“JANITOR’S REVENGE”

EXT. OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL – MORNING

ARCHIE locks the school gate. ARCHIE heads towards the Janitor’s Office, passing the dirty main hallway.

ARCHIE leaves his office with his bucket and mop, and walks through the empty school corridors.

ARCHIE reaches the main hallway and begins mopping the floor.

ARCHIE is mopping, almost finished. BARRY SCOTT rushes into the hallway, past ARCHIE. BARRY SCOTT almost loses his footing on the slippery floor, almost slipping. He continues forwards.

BARRY SCOTT

Where’s the wet floor sign?

BARRY SCOTT rushes off, leaving behind him muddy footprints. ARCHIE wrings his mop, and begins to mop the floor again. Sound comes from ARCHIE’S walkie-talkie. ARCHIE answers the call.

ARCHIE

Yes

   (pause)

But fixing the coffee machine is not a part of my job

   (pause)

It’s an external job

   (pause)

Yes

   (pause)

Okay, I’ll be there in a minute

   (sigh)

ARCHIE heads off, on his way seeing CRYSTAL CLEAN walk past him with muddy shoes. CRYSTAL CLEAN heading the opposite way tracks mud through the corridor.

INT. STAFF ROOM – MORNING

ARCHIE observes the coffee vending machine. He notices the plug is out at the back. ARCHIE sighs, bends down and plugs the coffee vending machine in.

INT. MAIN HALLWAY – MORNING

ARCHIE returns to the main hallway. The hallway has been muddied further since he was gone. ARCHIE returns to his mop and bucket and begins mopping.

INT. MAIN HALLWAY – MORNING

ARCHIE finishes mopping the floor. Suddenly, the school bell rings. Students flood out of their classes. ARCHIE remains still, mop in hand, as the crowd of students walk around him.

Close up of ARCHIE as he experiences shell-shock. He begins to twitch on one side of his face.

TEACHER

Archie (quiet)

   (pause)

Archie (louder)

   (pause)

Archie (louder)

The shell-shock is over. The camera pans out from ARCHIE’s face to reveal him standing alone in the main hallway. The hallway is covered in mud, looking worse than ever.

ARCHIE pauses. He then slowly places the walkie-talkie to his ear.

ARCHIE

Yes

INT. CANTEEN – LUNCHTIME

ARCHIE is in line behind a few students. He has his eyes on the few slices of cake remaining. Every student in front buys a chocolate cake. ARCHIE is now second in line, and is staring at the one slice of cake left. MR. MUSCLE in front takes the last chocolate cake. ARCHIE is next in line.

ARCHIE

Is there anymore chocolate cake?

DINNER LADY

No, sorry

ARCHIE now stares angrily at MR. MUSCLE enjoying his cake.

EXT. COURTYARD – AFTERNOON

ARCHIE carries a bin bag in one hand to the bin. ARCHIE reaches the bin, when he hears a shout.

MILLY MILKY

‘ey janitor bin this for me!

MILLY MILKY then throws her milkshake at ARCHIE. ARCHIE turns to MILLY MILKY failing to catch the drink. The milkshake hits ARCHIE, covering his overalls in the liquid.

MILLY MILKY has already turned around and is walking away. ARCHIE watches her, with an angry look. The twitch returns in his face.

INT. UPSTAIRS CORRIDOR – AFTER SCHOOL

ARCHIE is excessively scrubbing the floor with a bar of soap.

INT. CLASSROOM – DARK EVENING

The camera shows the classroom clock at 4’o clock. Three students are seated within the classroom. BARRY SCOTT, and MILLY MILKY are seated together. MR. MUSCLE is seated by the door on his own.

CRYSTAL CLEAN opens the door and enters.

CRYSTAL CLEAN

Are your waiting for a detention

MR. MUSCLE

Yeah, no idea why though, if a teacher doesn’t show up in five minutes I’m leaving

CRYSTAL CLEAN sits down. There is a moment of silence. BARRY SCOTT looks over to MR. MUSCLE.

BARRY SCOTT

Hi, I’m Barry Scott, do you know why we’re here?

MR. MUSCLE

Nah, my tutor just told me to come here at 4’o clock.

INT. SCHOOL – DARK EVENING

ARCHIE is locking doors around the school.

INT. CLASSROOM – DARK EVENING

The camera shows the clock is now six past four. MR. MUSCLE is about to leave his chair when the door opens. ARCHIE enters the room, and steps up to the front.

ARCHIE

I am Janitor Archie and am here for your punishment

MILLY MILKY whispers over to BARRY SCOTT.

MILLY MILKY

I didn’t know janitors could give detentions

ARCHIE

Silence. Now you there (points to MILLY MILKY) come up to the front.

MILLY MILKY reluctantly approaches the front. MILLY MILKY reaches the front and stands beside ARCHIE.

ARCHIE

Face your peers

MILKY MILLY turns to face the others. ARCHIE pauses for a second. He then draws a hammer from his tool belt and hits MILKY MILLY over the head. CRYSTAL CLEAN screams. MR. MUSCLE and BARRY SCOTT look in horror.

                

ARCHIE

Time to take out the real trash

The students dart out of the room, as ARCHIE follows at a walking pace.

INT. UPPER FLOOR CORRIDORS – DARK EVENING

The students have split up. ARCHIE follows BARRY SCOTT. BARRY SCOTT sprints away constantly looking over his shoulder. A low angle shot is showing the floor BARRY SCOTT is approaching. This floor has a layer of soap along it.

BARRY SCOTT sprints forwards not seeing the soap, slipping over and snapping his neck. ARCHIE approaches at walking pace and stands over the corpse.

ARCHIE

Bang and the dirt is gone

A banging sound can be heard from farther down the corridor. ARCHIE heads in that direction.

MR. MUSCLE is trying kick open the locked stairwell door. He turns back to see ARCHIE turning the corner behind him. MR. MUSCLE then sprints into the lift. From within the lift MR. MUSCLE frantically presses the close door button. ARCHIE is approaching. The lift doors close just before ARCHIE reaches the lift.

                                    

MR. MUSCLE presses G for ground floor.

EXT. ROOF – DARK EVENING

The lift doors open, to the roof of the school. MR. MUSCLE hurries out of the lift. In his hurry MR. MUSCLE does not see ARCHIE on his side. ARCHIE sprints at MR. MUSCLE picking him up and hurling him off the roof.

ARCHIE

You ate my god dam cake

ARCHIE looks over the edge of the building at the corpse of MR. MUSCLE.

INT. CLASSROOM – DARK EVENING

CRYSTAL CLEAN is by a lectern using the phone. She places it to her ear, only to hear the disconnect sound. CRYSTAL CLEAN drops the phone and rushes out of the classroom. She turns down a corridor at a jogging pace. CRYSTAL CLEAN turns the next corner. ARCHIE jumps out from around this corner with a dish cloth covered in chloroform. ARCHIE grabs CRYSTAL CLEAN from behind and forces the cloth to her mouth. As CRYSTAL CLEAN falls unconscious the shot fades to black.

INT. BASEMENT – MORNING

CRYSTAL CLEAN awakes tied to a chair. She looks ahead to see the corpse of MILLIE MILKY in front of her. CRYSTAL CLEAN screams. These screams transition into the sound of the morning school bell.

INT. MAIN HALLWAY – MORNING

ARCHIE is alone in the main hallway mopping the floor.

FADE OUT.

THE END
